woronov in the warhol photo booth

mary woronov was an underground sensation when she landed in the vortex the fabulous silver sixties at full force. not only was mary appearing in warhol's films, she was touring as a go-go dancing team with gerard melanga for the velvet underground with nico and lou reed. headlining in the underground new york theater of the time along with danny devito and rhea perlman, graduating to Julie Newmar's understudy in david rabe's "in the boom boom room", in a role she would quickly inherit to star opposite madeline kahn and win the theater award that year landing her a contract with a current soap opera "somerset." she moved to l.a. at friend paul bartel's invitation and the rest is history. was it a coincidence that bartel and warhol share the same birthday? was it a sign of star quality that woronov and jim morrison were born on the same day and year, 12-8-43? was there some greater force at work? all we can know for sure is that mary woronov is 100% fabulous.
